Join the Young Leaders Summit at RightsCon 2025 in Taipei
We’re thrilled to open applications for our fifth iteration of the Young Leaders Summit at RightsCon 2025 (Taipei and online, Feb 24-27)!
Are you a young person between the ages of 18 and 30, working at the intersection of human rights and technology, and keen to connect with a network of peers from around the world? Join us in Taipei to connect and collaborate with others working on youth-driven movements.
At this one-day summit taking place on Monday, February 24, we’re partnering with Better Together Taiwan to bring together up to 100 participants for an engaging program focused on youth-driven change, facilitating intergenerational dialogue, and building a resilient network.
What is the Young Leaders Summit?
Young people, despite being deeply impacted by issues surrounding technology and human rights, as well as having invaluable insights and lived experiences, are often excluded from meaningful discussions and decision-making processes. The RightsCon Young Leaders Summit seeks to bridge this gap by providing a space to:
- Create opportunities for youth participation: Equip young people to learn from and actively engage in critical discussions at RightsCon 2025 alongside industry experts and leaders
- Foster intergenerational dialogue: Ensure young voices are integrated into shaping solutions at the summit and beyond
- Highlight youth-led initiatives: Provide a dedicated platform for sessions and speakers led by young leaders, with a focus on amplifying local and regional perspectives
- Empower youth-driven change: Connect young leaders with funders and grant-makers to support their initiatives advancing digital rights
- Build a resilient network: Cultivate a strong community of young advocates committed to human rights in the digital age
Who is RightsCon partnering with for the Young Leaders Summit?
For RightsCon 2025, Access Now is partnering with Better Taiwan Together, a civil society organization based in Taiwan and committed to promoting democracy, human rights, and youth-friendly political engagement. Founded by a diverse group of passionate young Taiwanese activists, the organization places a strong emphasis on fostering international youth connections and advocating for intergenerational justice with an inclusive approach.
Better Taiwan Together envisions a future where young people play a central role in shaping policies that prioritize fairness, sustainability, and inclusivity. By creating platforms for collaboration and dialogue among youth across the Asia-Pacific and beyond, the organization works to amplify the voices of younger generations and build a more equitable and inclusive world for all.
Who can apply?
The Young Leaders Summit is designed to bring together young people who are already planning to join RightsCon from Taiwan, the region, or globally. Young people between the ages of 18 and 30 interested and engaged in technology and human rights issues are invited to apply. We prioritize diversity in regards to gender, region, and accessibility needs – while focusing on perspectives from the Asia-Pacific region.
Young Leaders Summit participants will receive a complimentary registration for all four days of RightsCon 2025, as well as food and beverages over the duration of the summit.
